About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. The Finance team is responsible for effective and efficient financial processes and controls to enable MTC Group to fulfil its vision.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for the below duties, such as:

  • Liaise with Operations and Business Intelligence Staff to ensure the revenue processes are producing accurate revenue recognition across the organisation.
  • Ensure all revenue processes are accurately documented.
  • Identify and report weekly on commitments, trends, and cash flow requirements.
  •  Lead staff and processes including, but not limited to receivables processing, debtor management, invoicing and billing, income journals and other routine financial processes or transactional activities.
  •  Execute strategic and tactical plans, which respond to customer and technological change, including assessing impact in context of end-to-end financial process and ensuring comprehensive action is taken.
  • Evaluate and identify risks associated with projects and highlight these to management with proposals for corrective action.
  • Preparation to Trial Balance, preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reports including monthly commentary on balance sheet movements.
  • Support, interpret and anticipate business issues and provide timely advice regarding impacts to people, process, technological, control and business issues as they arise.

About You:

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • 5 years relevant accounting experience post qualification.
  • CPA/CA Qualification
  • Experience with a range of ERP systems preferably Technology One.
  • Results-orientated and able to develop and deliver tactical business initiatives and report on outcomes.
  • Problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills to identify and respond to key issues and develop innovative and progressive solutions to complex matters.
  • Understanding of the not-for-profit sector.
