About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Brisbane and support our growing organisation.

Working with our IT team, you will be responsible for maintaining MTC’s technology to ensure it’s availability and security for our staff and customers. Your responsibility includes resolving applications and/or hardware issues and incidents, and responding to IT service requests from staff and business stakeholders. Naturally, you will be known for identifying, assessing and resolving issues within tight timeframes.

Your customer service skillset and ability to communicate well, build relationships and diagnose issues quickly is key to success in this role.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Providing providing remote and on-site technical support for both on-premise technology (user devices, networking infrastructure) and SaaS/cloud applications.
  • Managing, prioritising and resolving IT issues and service requests from staff and business stakeholders.
  • Proactively maintaining and monitoring the IT infrastructure across all MTC sites to ensure high availability.
  • Supporting the implementation of IT infrastructure and information security projects on time and on budget.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a similar field.
  • Extensive experience working with Microsoft Azure Active Directory and the Microsoft 365 stack, including Microsoft Teams & SharePoint.
  • Experience working with a variety of SaaS/cloud business applications e.g. Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows Server technologies.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows based SOE, corporate user devices and common IT peripherals.
  • Good understanding of information security controls.
  • Experience using Service Desk ticketing systems e.g. Jira Service Desk.
  • Experience with system data exporting and basic Excel reporting.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong time management, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and level of accuracy.
  • Proactive approach and able to work on tasks individually and as part of a team.
  • A continuous improvement approach.
