An exciting opportunity has arisen for Employment Consultants (Health and Wellbeing Coach) to join our client’s Employment Services team in South Brisbane/Fortitude Valley on a contract until 30 June 2025.


Our client's Employment Services division is dedicated to creating opportunities that empower and encourage individuals to secure gainful employment and positively contribute to their community. They deliver a holistic program that supports jobseekers through case management, coaching, work skills training, pre-vocational training, and job matching. Success is achieved by forming partnerships with key organisations in government, business, and the wider community.


The duties of an Employment Consultant include:


  • Managing a caseload of jobseekers with the goal of securing suitable and sustainable employment by addressing both non-vocational and vocational barriers to improve their capacity to work.
  • Guiding and supporting customers with non-vocational barriers through coaching, mentoring, and connecting them to additional community support services.
  • Partnering with customers to ensure they feel consulted and supported, and developing tailored plans to meet their individual needs and goals.
  • Utilizing our client's external partnerships to develop co-case management strategies for customers requiring intensive interventions.
  • Referring customers to the Allied Health team to help them overcome identified barriers.
  • Assisting customers in finding work by sourcing vacancies and facilitating introductions to employers.
  • Building rapport with customers, understanding their goals, progress, and circumstances, and managing their expectations.
  • Demonstrating empathy, respect, and understanding of customers' needs.


The ideal applicant we are seeking will possess:


  • Extensive case management experience.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to forge effective relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, along with excellent mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Strong listening skills and the capability to handle challenging customer behaviour.
