About the Role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. The Finance team is responsible for effective and efficient financial processes and controls to enable MTC Group to fulfil its vision.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for the below duties, such as:

  • Ensures all invoices, card management, corporate accounts, currency, EFT & Cheque payments, and any other transactional tasks are processed and reconciled as appropriate.
  • Identify and report weekly on commitments, trends, and cash flow requirements.
  • Drive process improvements and achievement of best practice. 
  •  Lead staff and processes including, but not limited to receivables processing, debtor management, invoicing and billing, income journals, fixed assets register maintenance and other routine financial processes or transactional activities.
  • Evaluate and identify risks associated with projects and highlight these to management with proposals for corrective action.
  • Preparation to Trial Balance, preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reports including monthly commentary on Execute strategic and tactical plans, which respond to customer and technological change, including assessing impact in context of end-to-end financial process and ensuring comprehensive action is taken.
  • Liaise with Internal and external audit and other stakeholders to enforce internal controls and report irregular financial practices.
  • Establish credit accounts with new suppliers.

About You: 

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Experience using Technology One.
  • CA/CPA or nearing qualification
  • Understanding of GST and FBT given not-for-profit status of the Company.
  • Understanding of, and experience with, AASB16 Lease Accounting
  • Results-orientated and able to develop and deliver tactical business initiatives and report on outcomes.
  • Experience working in capital management.
  • Understanding of the not-for-profit sector.
