About the Role

Our Finance division is seeking a Group Accountant to join the team for a six-month term contract.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will take ownership of MTC Group’s financial control systems and practices ensuring all standard control requirements are met. Specifically, you will:

  • Build and manage comprehensive and current financial policies and procedures that are GAAP/AASB compliant. Work with stakeholders on projects, new business and initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and annual Financial Reports for the MTC Group.
  • Implement new processes, systems applications, and controls to help drive efficiency and productivity improvements.
  • Work closely with the FP&A Manager in developing improvements to reporting, managing the Balance Sheet, understanding accounting and control implications of any business changes, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, as required from time to time.
  • Responsible for Group Treasury function and Group Taxation compliance
  • Provide technical accounting advice to internal stakeholders and manage the relationship with the external auditor.

About You

To be successful in this role you:

  • Are an accountant with Degree/Tertiary education plus demonstrated experience in a senior accounting role
  • Current general knowledge of Australian tax rules and regulations
  • Have an excellent understanding of financial controls, policies and procedures
  • Strong budgeting and modelling skills
  • Possess well-developed level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong time management, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders to understand business requirements
  • Experience using Technology One, TM1.
