Our client is a water storage tank specialist in Sydney that offers tank design, fabrication, installation, replacement, refurbishment & maintenance and is looking for a Junior Warehouse Assistant to join their team at their St Marys depot


This position will initially be offered on a temporary basis which could lead to a permanent role for the right applicant


You will be required to work on a DAY SHIFT working Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm


Your key responsibilities will include:


Forklift Operations

  • Operate counterbalance forklifts in a safe and efficient manner
  • Load and unload goods from trucks and storage areas
  • Maintain forklift equipment and report any issues promptly

Inventory Management

  • Assist in receiving incoming goods, inspecting, cross checking with Purchase Order (PO), reporting any discrepancy and storing items
  • Ensure accurate labelling, tagging, and placement of items in the warehouse
  • Conduct periodic stock checks and report any discrepancies

Order Picking and Packing

  • Pick and pack customer orders as per the Bill of Material (BOM) accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare orders for shipment, including proper labelling and documentation
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse layout for optimal efficiency
  • Assist the fabrication team when required

Quality Control

  • Ensure that products meet quality standards and report any damaged or faulty items
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse to uphold safety and quality standards

Driving and Delivery

  • Safely operate company vehicles using a manual transmission
  • Conduct deliveries /pickups of goods to/from designated locations
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers or within the organisation

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience of working in a high output production environment
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining a warehouse according to a specific layout plan
  • Valid manual driver's license
  • Current LF forklift
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing and material grading
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 25kilos
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Available to start immediately
  • Have full Australian working rights
