With a proud history spanning over 80 years, they are a leading provider and distributor of these products to both the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The Role
Based in their Western Sydney manufacturing facility, a full-time dayshift opportunity exists for a skilled Maintenance Fitter. With a strong background in both mechanical maintenance and fabrication, you will work within the maintenance team to ensure that equipment and machinery are operating reliably, are safety compliant, and operate effectively across the site. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys working across a broad range of tasks in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
· Support shutdowns, breakdowns, and preventative and reactive maintenance activities across the site
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with manufacturing equipment
· Perform welding, fabrication, installation and commissioning related tasks.
· Operation of manual machining tools including lathes (desirable)
· Conduct risk assessments and follow site safety protocols
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using MEX or similar systems
· Monitor equipment performance and report on status and required rectifications
· Support the maintenance store by stocking shelves, handling goods, and operating forklifts
· Ensure compliance with site safety standards and permit systems
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely repairs
Skills & experience:
· Australian Mechanical Trade Qualifications (Cert III or IV)
· Minimum 5 years’ experience within a chemical or other related industrial manufacturing environment
· Prior `experience overhauling with rotating equipment such as pumps, agitators and blowers (Desirable)
· Manual machining skills and lathe experience (Desirable)
· Experience in welding and fabrication of pipework (Ideal)
· Knowledge of static equipment, boilers, and compressors (Desirable)
· Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
· Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
· Forklift, EWP, and confined space licences (desirable)
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerised maintenance systems
