Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a specialist surface engineering company founded in 1992 that focuses on the development and application of materials, technologies, and methodologies to increase operating performance and wear life of capital-intensive machinery components.

We are looking for an a Mechanical Engineer, who has a solid background designing machinery using CAD, and working within a team to ensure the designs are feasible and mechanically robust.

You will be under the direction of the Engineering Project Manager, as the Mechanical Engineer you will design, develop and maintain high technology engineering systems.

To be successful you will need the following:

• Have the appropriate tertiary qualifications (however not essential).
• Have Full Australian Working Rights.
• Have a min of 5 years in a similar role.
• Have proficient IT skills to perform the role responsibilties.
• Be able to use CAD Design and Accurately Read Engineering Drawings.
• Select the correct components.
• Work within time frames.
• Assist to develop design, drawings and procurement procedures.

You will be part of a team that designs machinery using CAD, whilst consulting with engineering and manufacturing colleagues to ensure that the designs are feasible, and mechanically robust to meet the functional specification set.

You also must have a positive and professional attitude, and strong work ethic. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build a strong relationship with all stakeholders, good communication skills (written and oral).
