Position: Production Machine Operator/General Hand

Location: Caringbah

Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Pay Rate: $36.44 per hour

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Packaging, lifting, and carrying products (< 12kgs)
• Production recording
• Regular housekeeping and routine cleaning of factory floor, machines, and associated equipment
• Standard packaging adjustments
• Identifying and reporting any quality issues with products (e.g., short shots, bubbles, carton issues)
• Identifying and reporting any quality issues with machines and/or ovens
• Maintaining the correct cycle time for machines, especially ovens
• Compliance with quality procedures and policies
• Following workstation/machine layout instructions as per supervisor labour allocation

Specific Role Duties:

• Learning to modify short lengths of PVC pipe by placing them in an oven, followed by pressing and cooling in a tank
• Stacking items on pallets or in special crates
• Standing for the entire shift, requiring a decent level of fitness

Skills and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of accident and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with basic extrusion and moulding quality requirements and procedures
• Strong work ethic, demonstrating reliability, motivation, and punctuality
• Physically fit and healthy for work

Competencies:

• Ability to identify APP product range
• Understanding of product quality requirements and acceptance standards
• Understanding of granulation requirements for rejected products
• Ability to coordinate and manage time for machine allocation
• Ability to complete all counting, labelling, and QA requirements by reading data sheet drawings and facilitating any special requirements for packaging or second operations
• Competency in operating drop saws for cutting pipe and profile blanks for fabrication processes
• Observing hourly quality control methods and presenting products for transportation
• Attention to detail when placing finished products onto pallets for specific packaging methods
• Basic operations of single/twin bending machines (20 – 150mm)
• Completion of daily production reports, meeting target outputs as per product-specific data sheet expectations
• Basic operations of coupling machines and fabricated sweep benders
