About the Role

We are looking for a trainer to join our Education and Training team. Our Education and Training team deliver a range of state and federally funded training programs from locations in the Sydney Metropolitan Area and Queensland. Our programs are structured to provide participants with the skills they need for meaningful work and further education opportunities.

Reporting to the Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) Coordinator, the Skilling Queenslanders for Work Trainer will be responsible for the delivery of the program throughout MTC Australia’s contracted locations such as the following:

  • Logan
  • Goodna
  • Ipswich
  • Fortitude Valley
  • Strathpine
  • Caboolture

. The duties of this role will include:

  • ­Complete pre-training assessment and tailor program appropriately to the individual.
  • Deliver face-to face training on site including:
    • Explore jobseekers goals and motivation
    • Identify jobseekers existing skills and how they transfer for other jobs or industries.
    • Assist jobseeker to update and tailor job applications for specific jobs.
    • Match jobseekers to current vacancies and assist them with job search activities.
    • Actively engage job seekers in each of the group-based activities
  • Document job seeker’s engagement and participation and complete DESBT and MTC Australia reporting on relevant systems and platforms.
  • Carry out work to ensure adherence to all set rules, policies and procedures of MTC and compliance with applicable regulatory standards and contractual requirements.

About You:

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Experience in delivering non-accredited vocational training to disadvantaged cohorts.
  • ­Knowledge of effective training methods which deliver employment outcomes.
  • ­Knowledge of the Queensland local labour market.
  • ­Demonstrated ability to adapt delivery mode to suit low literacy/numeracy levels.
  • ­Ability to work in a contractually compliant environment.
  • Sound Information Technology and administration skills.
  • ­Enthusiasm, commitment, flexibility, and positive attitude in working with job seekers to achieve employment outcomes.
  • ­First Aid Certification
  • Own travel arrangements to travel across sites.
