Looking for a challenging and rewarding role where you can contribute to a positive social impact? Then look no further. We’re currently seeking a Youth Employment Coach to join our Auburn team. 


About the Role


Seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Youth Employment Coach who will motivate and support a caseload of young people to secure and maintain employment or pre-employment pathways at Auburn. This program focuses on pre-employment support to improve the work readiness of young people aged 15-24, that are at high risk of long-term unemployment. You will gain success through:

 

  • You will support young people through individualised career planning, mentoring to the attainment of employment or engagement of pre-employment pathways such as vocational training
  • Engage and track young people in 25 hours of activities a week that lead to employment and education outcomes
  • Liaising with employers and community organisations to assist youth with employment applications and placements
  • Your ability to connect and facilitate change with youth at risk.
  • Build relationships with employers and community networks to facilitate sustainable outcomes


About You:


  • Demonstrated experience in employment services (DES or job active) or youth employment services
  • Proven understanding of issues facing young people at risk
  • Ability to easily build rapport with disengaged young people, develop relationships and facilitate shift to commitment in education or employment
  • Achievement focused with proven experience meeting outcomes and KPIs
  • Understanding of local labour market trends and industry and the ability to develop relationships with stakeholders
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Services/ Psychology/ Social Services or related discipline or relevant sector experience
  • Current working with children check or the ability to obtain one
  • A current and valid driver’s license.
