The Roles
Due to an increase in contracts, this organisation currently have a number of full-time opportunities for passionate Disability Employment Consultants to join their 'Inclusive Employment Australia' (IEA) program. These permanent positions which will see you play a pivotal role in supporting participants with disabilities, injuries, or health conditions to find, secure and maintain meaningful employment.
You will work closely with the participants to understand their skills, abilities, barriers, strengths, and aspirations, and deliver tailored strategies and assistance that leads to sustainable employment outcomes. Your success in this role will come from building trust, developing strong community and employer networks, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting participant appointments to build rapport and to gain an understanding of each participants’ skills, capacity, and develop tailored employment plans.
- Engaging with community networks and employers to build strong connections and create inclusive job opportunities through reverse marketing.
- Delivering coaching, mentoring and support to participants through their employment journey with regular progress reviews and job readiness coaching.
- Ensuring compliance with program obligations, including job search activities, reporting, and attendance.
- Communicating effectively with participants and employers to provide post-placement support and achieve outcome milestones.
- Maintaining accurate records, submit claims, and ensure all service delivery meets contractual and policy requirements.
- Participating in professional development and training as required and take responsibility for own development.
What You’ll Bring
- Your previous lived or professional experience in working with people with disabilities, injuries or health issues
- Formal qualifications in employment or disability services (highly regarded)
- A strong understanding of person-centred case management and barrier management.
- Excellent communication, customer service, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of local labour markets and employer needs.
- Previous exposure to working to targets and KPI’s
- Resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to inclusive employment.
- Strong levels of computer literacy
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites as needed. (Car allowance provided)
