The Role

Are you a qualified workshop Mechanical Fitter ready to step up into a leadership role? We’re on the lookout for a Leading Hand who knows their way around heavy vehicles, cranes, and hook loaders. If you’ve got solid hands-on hydraulics experience and enjoy mentoring others while still getting stuck into the work yourself—this is the role for you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading a small team of Workshop Fitters and Fabricators
• Keeping quality and safety standards high
• Helping with installs, servicing, and inspections of cranes and hook loaders
• Fabricating and fitting subframes from start to finish
• Reporting progress to the Workshop Supervisor
• Making sure job paperwork is done right
• Working safely and setting the standard for others

What You’ll Need:

• Trade qualification (Cert III in Mechanical or Fabrication)
• Experience in a similar Leading Hand or senior trades role
• Heavy vehicle experience (cranes/hook loaders a bonus)
• Ability to read drawings and follow procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Current Driver’s Licence (HR preferred)
• Able to pass a medical and police check
