Qualified Mechanical Fitter

Our client is seeking an experienced Trade Qualified person – Mechanical Fitter/Welder or Boilermaker Welder with Fitting experience. 

This will be working at one of the largest alternative waste / recycling treatment plants located in Eastern Creek (off the M7) and available NOW for the right candidate.

Initially this opportunity will be working on a casual basis with a view to permanency for the right applicant.

Commencing on the day shift, and after a qualifying period you will transition to a permanent Rotating Shift Role within the Maintenance Team – 4 weeks on DAY shift, 2 weeks on AFTERNOONs and 2 weeks on NIGHT shift.

Permanent Day Shift offers a $40hr pay rate with afternoon and nights to include additional shift loadings. All 8 hrs shifts with overtime opportunities a reality.

To be successful for this role you will be required to:

Ø Hold an Australian Trade certificate in either Mechanical Fitter / Boilermaking Fitter

Ø Experience in preventative maintenance, breakdowns and shutdown work on machinery/ conveyors

Ø Experience in MIG and Stick welding

Ø Have good condition of tools of trade

Ø LF Forklift licence advantageous though not essential – Receptive to being trained and financed by company with a forklift license upon transition.

Ø Willing to assist with receiving and putting away of spare parts in workshop as required

Ø Good verbal and written communication skills

Ø Work within a team environment and autonomously.

Ø Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Ø Understanding and capable of working within a OH&S environment

Ø Reliable transport with a reliable work ethic

Ø Able to work within a waste / recycling environment
