About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to join our Marketing and Communications team. Our Marketing and Communications team is responsible for developing and delivering marketing and communications strategies that support and enhance MTC’s brand and reputation across its different entities, programs and audiences.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Senior Communications Specialist will be responsible for creating and implementing impactful external communications strategies for MTC. The role will include duties such as:

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to produce and publish clear, concise and engaging communications for a range of audiences.
  • Create content and copy for multiple external communications channels.
  • Proactively suggest and develop innovative methods of communication and strategies.
  • Build and manage a rich content/editorial calendar for external communications purposes.
  • Transform complex concepts into accessible and captivating content.
  • Other duties as required.

About You:

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism or a related field, or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a communications role.
  • Ability to research, write, edit and produce communications for a variety of channels and audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in media and/or government relations (desirable).
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms.
  • High level of organisational skills, time management and ability to meet set deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, objectivity, judgement and curiosity.
