About the Role

We are looking for someone to join our Growth team. Our Growth team is responsible for developing and managing the delivery of a business growth strategy for MTC as well as enhancing the customer experience.

Reporting to the General Manager of Strategic Growth, the Senior Research and Development Manager will be responsible for driving the Growth Division of MTC Australia forward through data-driven decision making and strategic initiatives. The role will be responsible across duties such as:

  •  Lead data-driven strategy and growth initiatives:
    • Manage internal and external data collation and interpretation processes.
    • Transform data insights into actionable strategies and growth initiatives.
    • Lead the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to improve customer experience, operational efficiency and overall business performance.
  • Manage and develop research & customer insights teams:
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Customer Insights Manager and research/data personnel.
    • Setting goals and performance expectations with the team.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication:
    • Consult with managers across the business to identify their data needs and challenges.
    • Collaborate and support internal stakeholders with data-driven insights into their respective strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver data-driven presentation:
    • Create and deliver presentations and reports of complex data insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
    • Analyse, summarise and distil insights to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
    • Identify and assess ‘non-bid’ related growth opportunities and build impactful and implementable proposals.
  •  Stay current with industry trends and technology:
    • Monitor and analyse emerging trends in research methodologies, data analytics tools and customer insights best practice.
    • Conduct competitive and customer analysis and determine areas of unmet needs, trends, potential risks and improvement opportunities.

About You:

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, business, data/statistical or related business discipline or extensive relevant business experience.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving and prioritising skills.
  • Well developed management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to translate complex research into easy-to-action insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, marketing or service innovation role.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Strong collaborator with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in or understanding of the NFP/Social Enterprise or Employment Services, Education and Training sectors desirable.
