About the Role

We are looking for someone to join our Youth and Community team. The MTC Youth and Community (YAC) division operates from one location, Campbelltown. YAC delivers programs in the areas of Sydney Southwest & Illawarra. This is full time max term contract of 6 months with a possibility of get extended.

Reporting to the Youth & Community Manager, the Youth Project Officer will be responsible for the below duties, such as:

  • Undertake program planning and delivery including development of systems and processes, staff recruitment and selection.
  • Direct the operational activities of various programs/projects to ensure operations are fiscally and ethically viable to support the achievement of business objectives whilst meeting compliance obligation.
  • Ensure that future programs’ KPI’s and key objectives are developed and met, along with the financial performance targets.
  • Engage and work with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to schools, government departments, non-government providers, young people, and parents.
  • Assist with the creation of various workshops and training materials for Youth Programs and pilot projects, including PowerPoint Presentations, Handouts, Activities etc. and facilitate group workshops from time to time, to young people.

About You:

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Services/Psychology/Social Work/Social Impact, Education, or a related discipline and/or considerable relevant sector experience.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including anti-discrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, Workplace Health and Safety and Privacy.
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of the social and economic issues facing young people and the community.
  • Experience working with young people in youth programs e.g. mentoring, recreational activities and group work.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
