About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Employment Consultant – Workforce Australia (WFA) to join our Employment Services team in South Brisbane on a full-time contract. Our Employment Services division is committed to creating meaningful opportunities that empower individuals to secure sustainable employment and make positive contributions to their communities. We deliver a holistic, person-centred program that supports job seekers through tailored case management, coaching, work skills and effective job matching. Our success is driven by strong partnerships with government, business and community organisations, enabling us to achieve positive and lasting employment outcomes.
Reporting to the Area Manager, the key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Managing a caseload of jobseekers with the objective of finding them suitable and sustainable employment through improving their capacity to work by addressing non-vocational and vocational barriers.
- Guiding and supporting participants with non-vocational barriers through coaching, mentoring and connecting to additional community support.
- Partnering with participants to ensure they feel supported and have a plan that is tailored to their individual needs and goals.
- Utilising MTC external partnerships to develop co-case management strategies to support customers with intensive interventions.
- Supporting participants in finding work through sourcing vacancies and brokering introductions to employers.
- Building rapport with participants and understand their goals, progress and circumstances including managing expectations.
About You
The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:
- Extensive case management experience.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to forge effective relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders.
- Strong positive problem solving, conflict resolution skills and mentoring and coaching ability.
- Strong listening skills and an ability to handle challenging customer behaviour.
