Procurement Officer – Manufacturing

Location: Kingsgrove, NSW

Salary: $90,000 + Super

Hours: Monday – Friday | 9 AM – 5 PM | On-Site

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our team and oversee purchasing and supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality goods and services at competitive prices, managing vendor relationships, and streamlining procurement processes to support operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Financial Controller on purchasing requirements, commitments, open purchase orders, lead times, and inventory forecasts.
  • Develop accurate weekly and monthly forecast data with financial exposure.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Use a collaborative and consensus approach with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Finance to ensure accurate demand forecasts.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organisation in developing inventory strategies for existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management, including forecast accuracy and inventory targets.
  • Monitor inventory levels at warehouses to ensure supply meets demand.
  • Identify and report on inventory trends and slow-moving items.
  • Use NetSuite to monitor demand and document inventory characteristics.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding component supply and negotiate the best price.
  • Place purchase orders with suppliers and communicate estimated delivery times with warehouse and manufacturing teams.
  • Assist with stock control, including stocktakes, adjustments, and verification.
  • Follow established quality procedures and financial controls.
  • Liaise with production and warehouse staff.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically with purchasing and stock control.
  • Strong background in inventory management, procurement, and demand planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • Advantageous: Background in pharmaceutical procurement and knowledge of FDA approvals.
